(('Stache Philosophy))
The following reflects a recent email that includes an account of the Red 'Stache Music philosophy on Rock-n-Roll entertainment.
"Just a quick note with contact info about the band,
The band, ShadowRock, has since disbanded/regrouped since the birthday party at the Side Car Cafe´ in June of this year. The drummer, Terry Hawkins, has regrouped with musicians previously involved in the ShadowRock band. He is playing with a different guitar player, bass player, and lead singer than what you saw at the Side Car.
Myself, my name is Robert Kent Haines, I sang lead vocals and played bass on the birthday party gig you attended. The guitar player, Kim Lemser, was the only guitar player on that particular gig. We have moved on and started a new band called the Rejects. You can find more information about us including pictures and videos at "RobertKentHaines.com". We continue to focus on classic, guitar-driven Rock-n-Roll like the music you heard at the birthday party. We are complete and self-sustained with full sound and lighting systems.
The other member of the band that night was Hal Butler, formerly of Southern Creed. He may still play with either band depending on demands. We will generally choose not to include him on gigs in favor of providing a more polished, professional show, something that is difficult to do with Hal since he has other commitments and is not able to rehearse with the band. By focusing on the members we have available to rehearse, we hope to expand our repertoire and include non-standard songs such as The Knack's "My Sharona", and Todd Rundgren's "Bang On The Drum". We feel we will be able to offer a unique entertainment experience with this approach, something that strays from the normal "Memphis Band" by offering much more than "Mustang Sally" and "Brown-Eyed Girl", even though we will always be able to play those on request.
I encourage you to keep up with the band of your choice, as I am sure either band will offer decent entertainment at a good price.
Let us know if there is any way we can help you celebrate in the future!
Sincerely, and don't forget to Rock On!!!"
